My name is Cuong Nguyen and I am a fashion designer based in Naarm (Melbourne). Working in both areas of menswear and womenswear design, my work embraces the traditional practices of slow fashion such as bespoke tailoring, draping and couture finishes such as embroidery, needle felting, smocking just to name a few - all techniques with a strong focus on craftsmanship and sustainable practices.

Born in Vietnam and migrated to multicultural Melbourne at a young age, my passion for fashion began from an early age thanks to my mother’s work as a dresssmaker. Having pursued a career in financial services and wealth management before returning to fashion full time, I believe I bring a unique set of skills - creative flair coupled with commercial sensibility to my fashion practice.

I am a recent graduate of RMIT University’s the Bachelor of Fashion (Design) with a minor in Sustainable Innovation, and I have also trained at Fashion Design Studio in Ultimo, Sydney. I am a finalist and will present my graduate collection as part of the National Graduate Showcase x Melbourne Emporium - Paypal Melbourne Fashion Festival - March 2025.
